Collection Tips for Merton

Helpful information to ensure a smooth same-day collection in your area.

Wimbledon Championships

During the tennis fortnight (late June–early July), avoid collections near Church Road and Wimbledon Village. Other Merton areas are unaffected.

Wimbledon Common Properties

Large houses near the Common often have long driveways. Placing items at the end of the drive saves time and keeps costs down.

Mitcham & Morden Access

These areas have good parking and straightforward access. Standard collections here are typically very efficient.

Same-Day Rubbish Removal FAQ - Merton

We can, but roads around the All England Club are extremely congested during the Championships in late June/July. We recommend early morning slots or collections in other Merton areas during this period.

Same-day collection throughout Merton. Same-day slots depend on availability, so booking early in the day gives you the best chance. Wimbledon, Mitcham, Morden, Colliers Wood, and Raynes Park all covered.

From £45 for a single item, £120 for average loads. Garden clearances from larger Wimbledon properties may need a large load at £200 or more. We always quote before starting.

Yes, garden clearances are a major part of our Merton work. Wimbledon and Wimbledon Village properties often have large gardens. We take green waste, soil, old sheds, and garden structures.

Absolutely. Flat clearances are common along the Northern Line corridor. We handle stairs, limited access, and can clear an entire flat the same day.

Merton Council offers a free collection each year with a small item limit, and items must be left outside, inside your boundary. We collect the same day, take unlimited items, do all the heavy lifting, and recycle or reuse wherever possible.

Clearing a Building Job in Merton?

Rubble, broken tiles, plasterboard and timber are priced by weight rather than by the load, and they need a different vehicle from a normal same-day collection. If your clearance is mostly construction material, start there instead – the quote will be more accurate and usually cheaper.

Just One or Two Large Items in Merton?

If it is a sofa, a mattress or an old fridge and it can wait a day or two, our bulky waste collection page covers single large items in Merton – what we take, how to get it ready for collection and what a small load costs.
