How to Dispose of Plasterboard in London
Why plasterboard can’t go in a skip with everything else, which London tips accept it, what collection costs, and how to handle board in a pre-2000 property.

Rubble is the heaviest thing we carry, and weight is what makes it a different job from ordinary waste. A single builder’s bag of broken concrete runs to roughly a tonne – more than most vans are plated to take. That is why rubble is priced and loaded differently from a general clearance.
We collect broken concrete, bricks and blocks, hardcore, paving slabs and patio stone, roof tiles, ceramic tiles and sanitaryware, mortar and screed, and clean soil and subsoil from excavations. Kept free of timber, plasterboard and packaging, all of it is inert waste: it goes to a crushing facility and comes back as recycled aggregate rather than going to landfill.
Keeping the load clean is worth real money. Mixed in with general rubbish, the same material is charged at mixed-waste rates, so it pays to stack rubble separately even before we arrive. If the load is mixed, tell us in advance – we would rather send the right vehicle than turn up with the wrong one.
Bagged rubble on a London street usually needs a grab lorry or a tipper with a short carry distance; a first-floor bathroom rip-out needs hands and buckets. Either way we quote on weight and access, not guesswork. For the wider job – mixed site debris, ongoing collections, or a whole strip-out – see builders waste removal in London.

Different jobs need different set-ups. A kitchen rip-out is not a long-running site, and a tonne of broken concrete is not the same problem as a stack of plasterboard. Pick the one that matches your project – or call us on 08 00 599 99 96 and we’ll tell you which it is.
