Cooling appliances like fridges and freezers contain refrigerant gases that must be extracted by certified technicians under F-gas regulations. Washing machines and dishwashers hold residual water and need disconnecting from plumbing. Ovens and cookers – particularly gas models – require safe disconnection before removal. We manage all of these requirements as part of the service.

A single appliance is our smallest load (£45) plus its eco-charge: £25 for small electricals such as microwaves, £55 for a washing machine, tumble dryer or oven, and £70/£120 for a fridge freezer. So a washing machine starts from £100 and a fridge freezer from £115. Several appliances in one visit share the load price. All prices are subject to VAT.

What changes the price

Appliance Disposal: What It Costs

A single appliance is a single-item collection, priced from our smallest load. A cooker, dishwasher, tumble dryer or washing machine on the ground floor with the van outside is the simplest job we do. Two things change the price: stairs, and whether the appliance contains refrigerant.

  • Cooker, dishwasher, dryer, washing machine – single-item rate; add for each floor without a lift, because these are two-person lifts on stairs. Washing machines have their own page: washing machine disposal.
  • Fridges and freezers – slightly more, because the gas has to be recovered at a licensed WEEE facility before the unit is shredded. See fridge collection.
  • Several appliances at once – a kitchen rip-out or a rented flat at turnover: priced as a load rather than per item, which works out cheaper.

Councils in London will usually take a large appliance as a bulky item, but you book a slot and there is often a waiting list; we normally collect within a day. Every appliance goes to a WEEE-approved facility, and you get a waste transfer note. Full load sizes are on the prices page.

We collect every type of household appliance: washing machines, washer dryers, tumble dryers, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, fridge freezers, American-style fridge freezers, ovens, cookers, range cookers, hobs, microwaves, and smaller electrical items like vacuum cleaners, irons, and food processors. If it has a plug or a gas connection and you want it gone, we will collect it from anywhere on your London property.

Each appliance is priced as part of the load plus its eco-charge. A microwave or other small electrical starts from £70, a washing machine, tumble dryer or oven from £100, and a fridge freezer from £115 (larger models £165). Several appliances in one visit share the load price, so a kitchen clearance costs less than booking each one separately. All prices are subject to VAT.

Yes – washing machines are our most frequently collected appliance. We disconnect the water supply and waste hoses, tip the machine back to drain residual water, and carry it out. If your machine is in a tight utility cupboard or an upper-floor flat, that is not a problem – our team brings appliance trolleys and straps for exactly these situations. Working, broken, or rusted machines are all accepted.

Our service is not free, but it is competitively priced and includes everything: collection from inside your property, disconnection, transport, and certified recycling. Some London councils offer free or low-cost bulky waste collection, but they often have a waiting list and item limits, and they may not enter your home. If you need an appliance gone quickly, or it is on an upper floor, or you want guaranteed responsible disposal with documentation, our service is the practical alternative.

Fridges and freezers cannot go in normal waste because they contain refrigerant gases that are harmful to the ozone layer and climate. These gases must be professionally recovered by certified technicians before the appliance can be recycled. You can take a fridge to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), but you will need a vehicle and most London centres require a booking. Alternatively, we collect from inside your home and take it to a licensed facility where the gas is recovered – usually same-day or next-day.

Yes. We collect freestanding cookers, built-in ovens, range cookers, and separate hobs. For electric ovens, make sure the unit is disconnected from the mains before we arrive – hardwired ovens should be disconnected by a qualified electrician. Gas cookers must have the gas supply capped off by a Gas Safe registered engineer beforehand. Once disconnected, we handle the physical removal and recycling. If you are unsure whether your cooker is gas or electric, check the back for a flexible gas hose or look for a dedicated 45-amp cooker switch on the wall.

Yes. Book early in the day and we can usually collect your appliances the same day, subject to availability and your location in London. This is particularly useful when a new appliance is being delivered and you need the old one gone first, or when a broken washing machine is flooding your kitchen. For less urgent jobs, we offer flexible morning and afternoon time slots throughout the week.

Technically, the term “white goods” originally referred to large household appliances that were traditionally finished in white enamel – washing machines, fridges, dishwashers, and cookers. Microwaves sit in a grey area: they are a kitchen appliance but smaller than traditional white goods. In practice, we collect microwaves alongside all other kitchen appliances as part of our white goods collection service. Whether you class it as a white good or a small appliance, we will take it away.

Appliances go to a licensed Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF). Cooling appliances have their refrigerant gases extracted first by certified technicians. All units are then dismantled: steel casings go to metal recycling, copper wiring is recovered, electric motors are separated, and plastic components are sorted by polymer type. Most of a typical white good, by weight, can be recycled. Any hazardous components – capacitors, mercury switches in older appliances – are handled according to hazardous waste regulations.
