Secure Paper Shredding for London Businesses and Individuals
Whether you need a one-off clear-out of filing cabinets or a regular shredding contract, we collect and destroy documents securely across London. Every collection comes with a certificate of destruction – the proof you need to demonstrate GDPR compliance if you are ever audited.
We offer both on-site shredding, where our mobile unit destroys paperwork at your premises while you watch, and off-site shredding, where sealed sacks are transported to a secure facility for processing. On-site suits organisations handling highly sensitive material such as legal case files or patient records. Off-site is more cost-effective for larger volumes where witnessed destruction is not required.
All shredded material is recycled into new paper products. Nothing goes to landfill, and nothing leaves our chain of custody until it has been pulped beyond recovery.

How the Process Works
1
Tell us what you have
Call, WhatsApp, or use our online form. Let us know roughly how many boxes, bags, or filing cabinets need shredding, and whether you need on-site or off-site destruction.
2
We collect securely
Our team arrives with tamper-proof sacks or lockable containers. Documents are sealed in your presence and loaded directly into our secure vehicle. Nothing is left unattended.
3
Destruction and certification
Documents are cross-cut shredded to DIN 66399 standard, making reconstruction impossible. You receive a certificate of destruction confirming the date, method, and volume destroyed.
GDPR and Your Legal Obligations
Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, any organisation holding personal data must dispose of it securely when it is no longer needed. This applies to paper records just as much as digital files. Simply binning paperwork or using an office strip-cut shredder may not meet the standard – strip-cut documents can be reassembled, which is why cross-cut or micro-cut shredding is recommended.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has the power to issue fines of up to £17.5 million for serious data protection breaches. While most enforcement actions relate to digital data, improper disposal of paper records has featured in several ICO investigations. A certificate of destruction from a professional shredding service provides documentary evidence that you took reasonable steps to protect personal data.
For regulated industries – healthcare, legal, financial services – professional shredding is not optional. The Solicitors Regulation Authority, Care Quality Commission, and Financial Conduct Authority all expect firms to demonstrate compliant document destruction as part of their records management.
On-Site vs. Off-Site Shredding: Which Do You Need?
On-Site Shredding
- Best for: Highly sensitive material – legal case files, board papers, medical records
- How it works: Mobile shredding unit comes to your premises; you can witness the destruction
- Turnaround: Immediate – documents destroyed while you wait
- Cost: Higher per-unit cost, but gives complete peace of mind
Off-Site Shredding
- Best for: Bulk volumes, archive clear-outs, regular scheduled collections
- How it works: Sealed sacks collected and transported to a secure shredding facility
- Turnaround: Typically within 24 hours of collection
- Cost: More economical for larger quantities
Who Uses Our Shredding Service
Solicitors and Law Firms
Client files, case notes, and privileged correspondence that must be destroyed to Solicitors Regulation Authority standards once the retention period expires.
GP Surgeries and Healthcare Providers
Patient records, referral letters, and prescription copies that fall under NHS Caldicott Guardian requirements for confidential destruction.
Accountancy Practices
Tax returns, financial statements, and client records. HMRC requires businesses to keep records for at least six years – after that, secure destruction protects both you and your clients.
Schools and Universities
Exam papers, student records, DBS check documentation, and safeguarding files that require secure disposal under GDPR and Department for Education guidance.
Estate Agents and Letting Agencies
Tenant references, identity documents, and financial checks that accumulate rapidly and contain sensitive personal information.
Individuals and Home Offices
Personal paperwork clear-outs: old bank statements, utility bills, insurance documents, and anything with your name and address. A domestic shredder struggles with large volumes – we handle it in one visit.
Pricing Guide
Shredding costs depend on the volume and whether you choose on-site or off-site destruction. As a rough guide:
- Single sack (domestic or small office): from £35
- Multiple sacks / box collections: from £75
- Archive clear-out (10+ boxes): quoted individually based on volume and access
- Regular scheduled service: monthly or quarterly contracts at reduced rates
On-site witnessed shredding costs more due to the mobile equipment, but there is no minimum quantity. We are happy to collect a single sack or clear an entire records room – the same security standards apply either way.
Electronic Media Destruction
Paper is not the only thing that holds sensitive data. We also destroy hard drives, USB sticks, CDs, DVDs, and backup tapes using certified physical destruction methods. If you are clearing an office or upgrading IT equipment, we can handle both the paper and electronic waste in a single visit. For more details, see our confidential waste disposal and computer disposal services.
