Waste Collection for London Surgeries and Clinics – Alongside Your Clinical Contractor

We do not collect clinical waste. Sharps, infectious and offensive waste, medicines, anatomical waste and anything contaminated with bodily fluids must go to a licensed clinical waste contractor, who supplies the colour-coded containers and the consignment notes. What we collect is the rest of a surgery’s waste: general waste, recycling and cardboard, confidential patient records, old furniture and non-clinical equipment, and the strip-out when a building is refitted – across all 32 London boroughs, with a waste transfer note every time.

Practice managers whose clinical contractor empties the yellow and orange bins but leaves the cardboard, packaging and general waste behind.

Surgeries and clinics clearing archived patient records, needing them collected securely and destroyed with proof for their records.

Clinics moving premises or being refitted – old consulting-room furniture, cabinets, flooring and IT that has to go before the builders start.

Managers who need a collection booked around clinic hours, a fixed price up front and a waste transfer note for the file.

FAQ

Medical Waste Disposal FAQ

Can’t see your question? Send us a photo on WhatsApp or call – we reply in minutes.

No. Sharps, infectious and offensive waste, medicines, anatomical waste and anything contaminated with bodily fluids are clinical waste. By law they must be collected by a licensed clinical waste contractor, who supplies the colour-coded containers and issues consignment notes where the waste is hazardous. We collect everything else a surgery or clinic produces and work alongside that contractor.

General waste from reception, offices and staff areas; dry mixed recycling; cardboard from deliveries; confidential paper such as patient records; old furniture; computers and other non-clinical electricals; and the fittings removed during a refurbishment. Not sure whether an item is ours or your clinical contractor’s? Send us a photo and we will tell you.

A waste transfer note for every collection, showing what we took, where from and our Environment Agency licence number (CBDU527690). It covers your duty of care for non-clinical waste. File it with your clinical contractor’s paperwork and you have a complete record of where all of your waste went.

It depends on the size of the building and how much packaging your deliveries bring. Some practices only need us for occasional clear-outs; others prefer a regular collection for cardboard and general waste. Tell us roughly how many bags and boxes build up each week and we will suggest a routine.

No. Medicines, including controlled drugs, are pharmaceutical waste and must go through your clinical waste contractor or your pharmacy return route, with controlled drugs denatured and recorded as the regulations require. Please keep them out of any waste you hand to us.

Yes. Old patient notes, letters and archive boxes are collected in sealed sacks and shredded, and you receive a certificate of destruction. For large archives or a regular service, see our paper shredding page. Under UK GDPR the practice stays responsible for those records until they are destroyed, so keep the certificate on file.

Yes. We remove old consulting-room and reception furniture, filing cabinets, IT, partitions, cabinetry and flooring, working room by room so the rest of the building can stay open. Anything that has been in contact with patients must be decontaminated first, and plumbed-in or wired-in equipment should be disconnected before we arrive. Larger jobs are priced from a photo or a quick site visit.

The two services stay separate. Your clinical contractor keeps its containers and its collection round; we collect only the non-clinical waste you show us and never take anything from a yellow, orange, purple, tiger-striped or sharps container. Keep the clinical store locked and clearly labelled, and tell our crew where the general waste and recycling are kept.

Yes. We work 7 days a week, so we can collect before clinics start, after they finish or at the weekend. Our DBS-checked crews use service entrances where possible, and same-day collection is available when you book early, subject to availability.

One-off collections are priced by the size of the load, from £45 for a single item, as shown on our prices page. Regular collections and refurbishment strip-outs are priced from a photo or a quick site visit. Either way, the price is fixed before we arrive. All prices are subject to VAT.
